This is mostly for FIX8 popularization:
Create online service like http://fixparser.targetcompid.com/.
Create online service for parsing FIX logs
Place a link to the service to most read FIX resources.
That could require JS code generation for all of FIX versions.
Right, I agree. We could use cloud services for hosting.
I used to have Windows Azure account and know to manage deployments.
I'm not sure people are going to want to send commercially sensitive FIX messages to a server for decoding. The one you link to uses client-side decoding to keep everything local.
It wouldn't be too difficult to create a SPA that did all the decoding in JS, yet allowed the user to specify their own schema if they wanted to (could be stored in browser localstorage).
Something pure AngularJS and hosted on Amazon S3 or Azure would be simple enough.
What functionality do you think it needs? Just the decode and display like the one you linked to?
Yes. Just decode and display friendly colored text. We can use standard schemes for that with message samples generated on-fly. Also, it would be nice to have search by tag, tag values in standard schemes.
Thanks Sergey. Is the plan to Open Source this? Or just host it as a value-add service to FIx8 in general?
No sure. This is a question to .
Still I think the site shall be public.
